One of the focal points of the work done by the Bescht Breeding and Training Stables is the preparatory training and the presentation of mares and stallions for mare registrations, approvals and other horse shows.

Hand-leading breeding horses is an art that cannot be conducted by just any one. It requires sensitivity, quick reactions and an understanding of the individual horse.

In many horse shows regardless if mare registration or stallion approvals, a horse's "career" is decided during the few minutes' presentation of jumps, walks a.s.o. Mistakes or clumisness during preparation or presentation will not be forgiven and can - if at all - only be remedied by a lot of work.

Wherever horse breeding has reached a very high level, the differences between contesting top-level horses are so very slight, that nuances which would normally be irrelevant and which result mainly from the quality of presentation, can be decisive of success or failure.

Also, most of the presentators even of large stables, usually do not hand-lead breeding horses all too often for mostly they have different jobs as horse breakers, horse breeders, stud managers or farmers. Hand leading briskly walking warmblood horses is quite an athletic performance, which only a sportsman will bring to perfection.

Thus even experienced breeders, who are well able to hand-lead their own horses rely on the perfection of the professional in order to reduce the risk of daily form.

Helmar Bescht has specialised in the presentation of horses during breeding shows and has become one of the most sought after presentators in the Trakehner scene.
The "Trakehner Hefte" (magazine no. 9/2003, p. 44) reported that he presented 18 Trakehner mares in 2003, four winning mares among them. For more than 15 years he has had the know-how of handling mares and young stallions.

In 2004 he presented at least one prize candidate in most of the mare registration shows, as well as approved stallions in Neumünster.
