In Schlieckau we offer you maximum service: We supervise your horse from the planning of maiting, via birth, raising and training until the end of it's basic training, the goal for mares is their registration and passing the mare performance test, for stallions their presentation for approval and passing the stallion performance test. Of course we also offer further training of your horse until it is ready for tournament sports.

Insemination

Using individually species-suited and scientifically founded keeping- and feeding methods we increase fertility and quality of your mares' junior breed. Insemination of the mares is carried out on site by our highly experienced veterinarian Dr. Heinrich Harre. If required Dr. Harre comes to Schlieckau daily in order to do the necessary follicle tests, inseminations or ultrasound examinations.

Gestation and birth

Our mother mares and mares with young will spend the summer months in their known herd on our grazing pastures and will be stabled at night in order to safeguard optimal feeding conditions.


We have roomy boxes for our foaling mares. Video surveillance of the breeding stables keeps the foaling mares under constant supervision during foaling and birth, which enables us to competently assist birth at any given time, if need be.

Raising

Between ten and fifteen foals grow up in Schlieckau every year. Sorted by age group and sex we keep the young horses on our large pastures during the summer months. Since our pastures are directly adjacent to the stables, continual supervision and control can be guranteed. During the winter months the young horses are kept in separate rearing-stables with large running boxes. Regardless of the weather the herd can exercise in the winter horse run.

Based on our many years of experience we can give your junior breed a first class raising and education so that their future performance will not pose any difficulty.

Many mares with association- or state prizes, successful sports horses as well as several approved stallions have been raised in the Schlieckau Stud.
